How can you tell what is a Ferrous Metal?

Most ferrous metals are vulnerable to to rust when exposed to elements and it's magnetic.

Here is a list of some metals considered to be Ferrous Metal:

Stainless Steels, Cast Iron, Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel and Wrought Iron.

(tin cans, stainless steel sinks, car bodies, screws, hinges, household appliances)

Non Ferrous Metal have higher resistance to rust and corrosion, they are also non-magnetic

Here is a list of some metals considered to be Non Ferrous:

Aluminum, Brass, Copper, Nickel, Tin, Lead, Zinc

(pop cans, pipes, cutlery, foil, nails, wires, motors)
